Earthquake rescue

Make the unseen seen.

The Revenant senses trapped survivors under rubble after earthquakes and building collapses. Our proprietary on-device AI detects breathing and movement through reinforced concrete, wood, drywall, rubble, smoke and darkness. Environment-independent, so teams know where life is before it's too late.

Detect life through rubble.

Rapid deployment. Deep-scan through-structure. The Revenant. Set-up and first scan completed within 1 minute, Revenant detects survivors under collapsed buildings, with a target depth of up to 15 meters in favourable material (currently being characterised). Detecting trapped survivors' breaths per minute. A breathing person's chest rises and falls up to 20 times per minute. These tiny movements, just millimeters, create a unique signature in the Wi-Fi channel. Revenant captures this channel-state (CSI) signature and instantly identifies it as a living human.

Where dog teams can't go

Find life when nothing else can.

Revenant detects trapped survivors where chemical contamination makes search dogs impossible to deploy. Chemical-agnostic — Revenant uses CSI sensing, not scent. Toxic environments, smoke and hazardous atmospheres don't affect detection performance.

Revenant — Security

Know before you enter.

No officer should enter an unknown space blind. Revenant scans through doors and walls, detecting human presence, count, position and breathing before your team makes entry.

Tactical entry

Enter with the picture already in hand.

Before the team moves, Revenant has already read what's behind the door — presence, count and position. The decisive advantage in the seconds that matter most.

Vehicle & container scan

Hidden. Not invisible.

Unsealed and thin-walled containers and cargo trucks are no barrier for Revenant. Our CSI-based detection system identifies human breathing and movement through many materials, giving border security teams instant confirmation of concealed persons before entry. Fast, non-invasive, and deployable at any checkpoint. Penetration depends on material — fully sealed steel enclosures remain a limit for any radio-based method.

Revenant in the Sky · passive drone detection

Drones that don't transmit are invisible to any network. Not to us.

Revenant in the Sky is our second product line: a passive radar for the low airspace. It uses the existing 4G/5G mobile network as its illumination source and transmits nothing itself. It is designed to detect drones as physical objects — independent of SIM, radio link or remote control.

No transmitter · No new infrastructure

Nothing to transmit. Nothing to build.

A receive-only unit at the site — no transmitter of its own, no new masts. Mobile network analysis needs an active SIM, RF sensing needs an active control link. Revenant in the Sky needs neither, so it is designed to detect autonomous and radio-silent drones as well.

Deployment · Coverage

Wherever there is mobile coverage, the illumination is already there.

In Germany, at least one 4G network covers around 97% of the land area (Bundesnetzagentur, January 2025). Revenant in the Sky builds on exactly that. What is installed is the receive side only: receive antennas, positioned at the site to be monitored and planned for each site. It is an investment in receive antennas — not in transmitters or new masts.

Detection for the low airspace

Know what is in the air.

Revenant in the Sky is a detection system, not a countermeasure. It is built for operators of critical infrastructure, public authorities and security organisations. Information is available on request.

Specter Sensing GmbH — who we are

Building technology that saves lives.

We are a bootstrapped, deep-tech AI start-up based in Düsseldorf. Our mission is simple and non-negotiable: building technology that saves lives.

Who we're looking for (m/w/d)

We are looking for engineers who want to take responsibility for results. What we assess is a relevant engineering background and hands-on experience with AI development — independent of age, origin, gender, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

/ 02

Working students & interns (m/w/d)

We are looking for students who want to take on real responsibility in training Revenant's AI models. You will work on code that goes into the product. Open to enrolled students and to candidates completing a mandatory or voluntary internship, on terms that comply with the Mindestlohngesetz.

How we work

We are a small, hands-on engineering team in Düsseldorf. We spend our time on hardware, measurements and field tests rather than on slide decks.

Field trials are planned well in advance.
